Classroom Procedures—Social Studies 9-2016 Ms. Tesch
A-Bring to Class Everyday
1. Pencil/Pen/folder with paper, Book, other supplies.
2. Do not bring food or gum to class. Cough drops are allowed if you let the teacher know.
3. Two working pencils, with lead or sharpened to your satisfaction should be ready by the time the bell rings.
4. Silent reading book in case you have free time.
B-Entering the Classroom
1. Enter the room quietly or wait respectfully until the door is unlocked.
2. Sit in assigned seat.
3. Get out paper, book and supplies and be ready to work when the bell rings.
4. Electronic devices need to be put away before entering the classroom. Electronic device use
will be determined by the teacher.
C-End of Class Dismissal
1. Work until the last 5 minutes of class.
2. Clean up in and around your desk and floor. Sign out or log off as directed by your teacher.
3. Return all handouts that need to be returned. Place work in a folder where you can find it for the next day.
4. Stay in your assigned seat until the teacher dismisses you. When leaving your seat, push your chair in at your desk before leaving.
D-Asking a Question
1. Raise your hand, and wait to be called on.
2. Listen to all instructions. This includes paying attention through all of the instructions.
3. Ask as many questions as you wish, paying attention to each person's question.
4. Be patient and respectful of others asking questions.
E-Heading on ALL papers in the upper right hand corner
1. First and last name in readable writing. Include the date, hour of the class and the title of the assignment. Work without names cannot be given credit.
F-Responding to Teacher’s Request for Attention
1. Be respectful and be quiet when teacher calls you to attention.
2. If the teacher is speaking be quiet immediately and listen.
3. Move to any designated location quietly.
4. All Substitute Teachers and any adult will receive courtesy and respect. Do what they ask of you. There is no excuse accepted for misbehaving for any substitutes.
H-Assignments/Homework
1. Some students may have extra work assigned and graded as needed.
2. Students who need to improve their grade need to put in extra time reading and studying the chapter discussed in class at home. The calendar on this web site indicates what chapter we are working on.
3. Work with no name on it will not be graded.
4. Missing assignments need to be found!
I-Class Cooperation and Behavior
1. Students are expected to sit next to and work with ANY student in the class!
2. Use quiet voices whenever you are in the class.
3. Call-outs are never appropriate. This includes calling out to a peer across the classroom as well as calling out to any visitor, peer or teacher entering the classroom.
4. When using the computer room students follow the Acceptable Use Guidelines signed at the beginning of their career at Warren Consolidated. This includes not touching another student's computer, staying off of the internet unless directed to do so, doing your own work , and not plagiarizing from others or internet sources. Students can be removed from computer usage for these violations.
5. Excessive bathroom passes will have consequences. This could include additional work, parent contact or referrals to counseling for special authorizations.
J-Emergency Events
1. No talking to be able to hear directions.
2. Move quietly to the appropriate location.
3. If we are out of the building, WALK and remain with your group. Remain quiet.
4. All practice drills are considered REAL emergencies.
K-Teacher’s Desk
1. Do not remove or touch anything on the teacher’s desk, cart or work area without permission.
2. Please do not sit in the teacher’s chair, or the high stools without permission.
3. Please do not write on the board unless directed to do so.
